Project: University of Toronto Varsity Centre Pavilion
Owner: University of Toronto
Prime Consultant: Diamond and Schmitt Architects
Description:

The 15,000 sf  - 2 storey concrete structure, located on the south end of the Varsity Stadium (St. George Campus) is home to the University of Toronto’s Varsity Blues.  This state-of-the art facility includes football change rooms, coaching offices, multi-purpose rooms, equipment manager and storage areas, taping & therapy, reception and customer service areas, and a field storage building.  Project complexities included a site that was located on a busy downtown urban site with portions of the new building extending over an existing fully operational transformer station.  Staging areas were limited along with the requirement to maintain existing fire routes and service access along the adjacent Varsity Arena and Stadium throughout the entire construction phase.
