The
227m2 sculpturally shaped pavilion for Sherbourne
Park is a one-storey steel frame and roof
structure anchored to a concrete grade beam and
caisson foundation system.
The
pavilion is composed of three components;
washrooms for men and women to the west; a
concession cafe on the east and a mechanical room
in the basement for UV filtration for the park
system lake water uses. These distinct
building components are joined seamlessly by one
continuous metal roof.
The
entire pavilion is clad in a zinc metal siding
system, metal stud framing with unit masonry and
drywall interior walls.
A
LEED Gold project, the pavilion will be comprised
of high R-value insulated walls and roof,
optimized energy efficiency with a liquid HRV heat
and cooling system, and promote a high level of
indoor air quality management during construction.
The
pavilion is intended to complement the high
quality design and experience of the
Sherbourne Park and regenerated Toronto Waterfront
becoming a local neighbourhood and citywide
destination.
